Choosing a location

The Fastlane swim system can be installed in virtually any in ground concrete, gunite, masonry, vinyl-lined or fiberglass pool, and in many aboveground pools as well. The Swim Unit can be placed in water as shallow as 35". Generally speaking, if the pool is deep enough to swim in, it’s deep enough for a Fastlane.

Select a location for the Swim Unit that is at least 12' from the opposing wall of the pool (see diagram to the right). This will provide you a luxurious 10'-long “lane” to swim in. As you can see, this requirement is easily accommodated by a variety of pool shapes and sizes.

Because the Swim Unit is bolted to the pool deck, the Fastlane must have 29" of solid decking from the water’s edge to the mounting site. If your decking is not this wide, it should be easy to pour a fresh concrete pad to secure the mounting bracket.

Once you’ve decided where to locate the Swim Unit, choose a location up to 200 feet away for the Power Unit. As a practical matter, many homeowners site the Power Unit with their other pool equipment although it may be located in a garage or basement close to electric power if a functioning floor drain is nearby. When the Power Unit is outdoors it must have our optional Weather Shield installed to protect it from rain.
